'Doubt: A Parable'

7:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, Feb. 1-3; 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4; Weathervane Playhouse, 1301 Weathervane Lane, Akron.

Weathervane Playhouse stages this Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner. Set in 1964 at a Catholic school in the Bronx, the play tells the story of Sister Aloysius, who must wrestle with her conscience when she begins to have serious concerns about the parish priest.

Tickets range from $10 to $22 and are available online. The production runs through Feb. 11. The play is recommended for adults only.

Gallery Talk

6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1; Akron Art Museum, 1. S. High St., Akron.

Emily Sullivan Smith — an artist, Kent State University alumna and an assistant professor at the University of Dayton — will give a gallery talk about her artwork, "Thousands and Thousands," which his on view as part of the Akron Art Museum's "Heavy Metal"exhibition. She will also talk about other works in the museum.

This event is free.

'Katharine Hepburn Dressed for Stage and Screen'

Opens Friday, Feb. 2; Kent State University Museum, 515 Hilltop Drive, Kent.

Legendary actress Katharine Hepburn had an instantly recognizable style. This exhibition, which has been traveling the country for the past seven years, returns to Kent State. The display will show off her costumes from stage productions of "The Philadelphia Story" and "Without Love" and films "Adam's Rib" and "Long Day's Journey Into Night," among others.

'The Vagina Monologues'

8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3; E.J. Thomas Performing Arts Hall, 198 Hill St., Akron.

This performance of Eve Ensler's groundbreaking play is a part of the V-Day movement to stop violence against women and girls. The event is sponsored by the University of Akron's Women's Studies Program and the Multicultural Center. Proceeds from the show benefit the Rape Crisis Centers of Medina and Summit counties.

Stayin' Alive: A Tribute to the Bee Gees

8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3; Hard Rock Rocksino, 10777 Northfield Road, Northfield.

Many music fans might have stared down their noses at disco acts during their heyday, but with a little time under our belts, we can admit it: Disco was kind of fun. If you want to relive those fun days — and much of the "Saturday Night Fever soundtrack — check out Stayin' Alive, a Bee Gees tribute band. Of course, the Bee Gees weren't all about disco, and the show will cover a range of the band's hits.

Standing Rock International Shorts Festival

8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3; Kent Stage, 175 E. Main St., Kent.

Standing Rock Cultural arts is a nonprofit group that promotes arts and education. Its annual film festival, in its 15th year, will feature short films from around the world. The audience will see animation, music videos, comedies, experimental films, documentaries and more.

Tickets range from $5 to $10 and are available online.

Molsky's Mountain Drifters

7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4; Happy Days Lodge, 500 W. Streetsboro Road, Peninsula.

Bruce Molsky is a Grammy-nominated artist who combines guitar, banjo and his voice to create a unique sound. He will brings his new group, Molsky's Mountain Drifters, to the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The audience will hear old time classics and original songs.

Coffee with the Birds

1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4; F.A. Seiberling Nature Realm, 1828 Smith Road, Akron.

Naturalist Cassie Hall will lead a discussion at the wildlife viewing area and explore why the spot is a favorite among the winter birds. Coffee is provided, but bring a mug.
