NARAYANGANJ: A suspected robber was killed in a gunfight with police in Sonargaon upazila of Narayanganj early Thursday (February 1).
He was identified as Nazrul, a resident of Barodi union under Sonargaon.
Sonargaon Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC-Operation) Abdur Jabber told Banglanews that they carried out a drive on information of robbery in Barodi area, at around 4:00am.
Sensing presence of the law enforcers, the robbers opened fire on them.
A robber was killed in the shootout as police retaliated.
The body was sent to Narayanganj Sadar General Hospital and drive is being continued to nab rest of the robbers who have managed to flee during the shootout, he added.
