Around Brimfield

Happy Valentine’s Day, Brimfield. This is the month that you show that special someone how much you care. That doesn’t mean you rush out and buy something expensive, it means you do something nice to show you appreciate all they mean to you. I want to thank all of my loyal readers for your support this past year and hope you will continue to read my column. My column will not be run on the first Wednesday this year due to some changes but will appear on the first Thursday of the month from now on. I have been told there may be a time when it will appear later if space is needed for other news. Thank you for your understanding. Please continue to send me your news items. As most of you know, I lost my husband on Dec. 25 and I want to thank all of you for your continued support. It has really helped to know so many care. I am hoping it will get easier with time.

Here is your February poem by James Metcalfe.

"I Offer You My Heart"

I cannot promise you success … With pockets full of gold … Or everlasting happiness … For you to have and hold … I cannot give the heavens blue …The waves that rise and fall … I have my heart to offer you … And that is all … I do not own a large estate … Or any part of fame … And there is nothing really great … Connected with my name … I do not have a palace new … With pleasures to enthrall … I have my heart to offer you … And that is all … So many others can provide … The luxuries there are … And be forever at your side … As constant as a star … But I may never be so true … Or build a house so tall … I have my heart to offer you … And that is all.
