A man was charged with three counts of attempted first-degree murder and is accused of firing shots Sunday inside an apartment complex, 17th Judicial District Attorney Dave Young said Wednesday.

James Cathcart-Curtiss also was charged with one count of illegal discharge of a firearm.

According to a news release from Young’s office, the 33-year-old is accused of firing a weapon through the walls of his apartment at 5714 N. Gibralter Way in Aurora.


Cathcart-Curtiss was advised of the charges on Wednesday in Adams County Court. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for March 13. He is being held on $50,000 bail.
