Actor Farid Kamil lodges police report against friends and cops
KUALA LUMPUR: Movie director and actor Datuk Farid Kamil (pix) who was charged in court last month for assaulting a policeman and drug abuse lodged a police report on Wednesday listing several allegations against the police and his friends following his arrest at the Kota Damansara police station on Jan 11.
Selangor police CID chief SAC Fadzil Ahmat who did not disclose details of the allegations made by Farid, 37, said an investigation was initiated soon after the report was received.
"His report was over issues before, during and after his detention.We are investigating and need to record his statement. After he lodged the police report, he left and was uncontactable when the investigations officer called him up. We hope he will give us his full cooperation," he said.
On Jan 11, Farid had gone to the police station to lodge a traffic accident report and had allegedly slapped a traffic policeman. He was arrested, held on remand and tested positive for drug use.
