Harry and his bride-to-be were greeted at Goldsmiths' Hall, in the City of London, by General Sir Nick Carter, the Army's Chief of General Staff, the Royal Foundation's chief executive, Lorraine Heggessey, and David Wiseman, head of armed forces for the foundation.
The couple looked relaxed as they talked with the nine nominees - who have taken part in remarkable sporting and adventure challenges - before the second annual Endeavour Fund Awards.
They chatted and laughed with guests and nominees before taking their seats for the ceremony itself.

After their arrival Kensington Palace tweeted: “Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle meet tonight's inspiring #EndeavourAwards nominees and other @EndeavourFund participants.
“Each of the veterans has overcome adversity and used adventure as a catalyst for their recovery.”
Three prizes will be awarded at tonight's event: Recognising Achievement, Celebrating Excellence and the Henry Worsley honour.
The last prize is named after the late explorer, who died in January 2016, just 30 miles from completing a solo crossing of the Antarctic while raising money for the Endeavour Fund on the expedition.

Meghan Markle took to the stage to announce an award nomination.
She said: “I am truly privileged to be here.”
The fund is a body set up by the Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry to finance sporting and adventure challenges aiding the recovery of wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women.
The Endeavour Fund is a charity aimed at rehabilitating injured ex servicemen and women by supporting them in sports and adventurous challenges.
The annual awards ceremony honours those who have undertaken and completed extraordinary feats while tackling physical and mental challenges.

Former Royal Marine Dan Fielding, 37, said having the royal couple attend the awards was "massive".
“It's lovely he's brought his new fiancee with him," said Mr Fielding, who last year captained a 2,000 mile voyage around the British Isles with a crew of 17 other veterans.
"She talks so well, she's so caring, so kind, so nice. She is very genuine, very natural.

"When you see them together, they look absolutely fantastic.
"I asked if she wanted to come sailing with us. She smiled nicely and nodded.
"It would be nice if she would come sailing, but it might be too cold for her over here."

Kensington Palace said: “Prince Harry and Ms Markle will attend the annual Endeavour Fund Awards on 1st February.
“The awards celebrate the achievements of wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women who have taken part in remarkable sporting and adventure challenges.”
Meghan first got a taste for Harry’s drive to support injured servicemen and women when she attended the Invictus Games alongside the prince in Toronto, Canada, in September last year.
It is the latest official royal event Ms Markle has attended with her fiance since their engagement in November. They will wed on May 19.
