NORTON — Dozens of law enforcement officers are on scene where a person is believed to have barricaded himself in an apartment.
Norton police officers responded to the Norton Glen apartments complex about 11:22 a.m. on Thursday after receiving information about someone who was barricaded in one of the apartments.
Boston police received the initial information and contacted Norton police.
The complex, which is located on North Glen Road, is just off of Route 123, less than a quarter-mile from Foundry Street in Easton.
"There is police activity at Norton Glen Road," Norton police said in a tweet. "We ask residents to please stay inside."
No vehicles other than law enforcement are being let into the complex and residents of at least four buildings have been asked to shelter in place.
The Southeastern Massachusetts Metropolitan Law Enforcement Council SWAT team is on scene, as well as local and state police.
This is a developing story that will be updated.
