Union Budget 2018 receives mixed reactions from political leaders

After Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley presented the Union Budget 2018-19 in the Parliament, various political leaders expressed their views over the newly introduced budget. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar hailed the Finance Minister’s budget schemes in Healthcare, education and agriculture sectors. Hailing the announcements by Arun Jaitley, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis termed the Budget as ‘progressive’ and also appreciated the announcement of higher MSP by the FM by saying that with this, the government would be able to fulfill the long standing demands of the farmers. However, Congress leader Renuka Chowdhury criticized the Budget announcement of doubling the MSP and agricultural growth by saying that this never happened anywhere in the world. Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley presented the Budget 2018-19 on Thursday. In his Budget, he made several announcements and allocations in various sectors and schemes.
