One lane on I-10 closed after mobile home catches fire

DeFUNIAK SPRINGS — One lane of westbound Interstate 10 was shut down following a multi-vehicle traffic crash about 1 p.m. Thursday.

Walton County Sheriff’s Office deputies shut down the right lane near mile marker 83, according to the sheriff’s office Facebook page.

The crash involved a mobile home and pickup truck, according to WCSO spokeswoman Corey Dobridnia. The mobile home, she said, caught fire after running off the road and into the woods.

The Florida Highway Patrol took over the crash investigation as of 2 p.m.

Walton County Fire Rescue and City of DeFuniak Springs Fire Department also assisted. 

Minor injuries were reported.
