Salsa historian Eileen Torres will host a special event commemorating Black History Month.
“Africa: The Roots of Salsa” is a video presentation that highlights the contributions to the development of salsa music by Afro-Latinos. The goal of the presentation is to demonstrate the cultural bond shared by the Latino and African-American communities, according to a news release.
The presentation will be 7 to 8:30 p.m., Feb., 2, at Mexican Mutual, 1820 E. 28th St., in Lorain.
