Driver escapes after truck goes through ice near Spicer
SPICER — The driver of a 2013 Dodge pickup escaped injury Wednesday night after his vehicle plunged into open water on Lake Calhoun, in northern Kandiyohi County.
The Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office said they received a report at 6:48 p.m.of a partially submerged vehicle on the south side of Lake Calhoun.
The vehicle went into open water a few hundred yards east of the public access, according to a press release from the sheriff's office.
After arriving on the scene, deputies discovered the adult male driver was able to exit the vehicle without injury.
