THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Former minister and NCP leader A K Saseendran, who is returning to office after being acquitted in the phone conversation case, will take the oath of office by 5.00 pm on Thursday.

Governor P Sathasivam will administer the oath of office at the event to be held at Raj Bhavan today evening.

The NCP had submitted a letter with the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan seeking to reinstate A K Saseendran as a minister since he was acquitted in the case.

A K Saseendran will be reinstated as the transport minister just like before. Currently the CM is in charge of the department.

Petition might be considered Thursday

The petition against A K Saseendran submitted at the Kerala High Court might be considered on Thursday.

It was a woman, a native of Thycaud in Thiruvananthapuram named Mahalakshmi, who had filed the petition at the HC seeking to cancel the ruling by the Thiruvananthapuram Chief Judicial Magistrate Court that acquitted A K Saseendran.

A petition she submitted earlier seeking the same was rejected by the Magistrate Court.

She has said in her petition that the sabotaging of the case against Saseendran was an insult to women.
