Report: Gronk cleared, will play Sunday

According to the NFL Network, Rob Gronkowski has been cleared from the league's concussion protocol and will play against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday in Super Bowl LII.


Gronkowski had been practicing with the team, but was still awaiting clearance from the the protocol to be a full participant. The All-Pro tight end was listed as a limited participant in Wednesday’s practice, which was the first of the week and the only one that takes place in full pads. [...]

Gronkowski is scheduled to speak at Thursday's press briefing at 5:20 p.m. EST. The Patriots will formally update Gronk's practice participation level from Thursday’s workout later today.

Gronkowski was injured in the AFC title game, leaving after a helmet-to-helmet hit by the Jaguars' Barry Church.
