LONDON: Moroccan security forces said, a terror cell made up of seven extremist supporters of daesh was dismantled on Thursday.
Initial investigations revealed that the cell, which operated in the cities of Tangier and Meknes, planned to join a branch of ISIS.
The interior ministry also revealed that the group intended to attack civilians.
Searches led to the seizure of various electronic devices and bladed weapons, in addition to books and manuscripts calling for extremist acts.
An investigation is underway before a trail will be carried out.
