Indore Crime Round Up: Youth booked for  raping live-in partner

Indore: A youth was booked on Tuesday for allegedly raping his 26-year-old live-in partner on the promise of marriage at Scheme 54 in Vijay Nagar area.

According to police, the complainant alleged that she was in a live-in relationship with accused Apoorv Kothari since past six years. The accused lured her for marriage and raped her. Later, he married another woman, the police said. The victim claimed that the accused deceived her of divorcing his wife and raped her again. However, recently the accused fled and switched off all his mobile phones following which the complainant informed the police. The police booked the accused under Section 493-A of the IPC.

Criminal arrested


A notorious criminal was arrested under the National Security Act (NSA) on Tuesday for his involvement in criminal activities in the area.

According to police, after cordoning off the area accused Lakhan Jaat, a resident of Malharganj area was caught and booked under the Act. The accused has over two dozen pending cases of murder, robbery, extortion and others. Sources claimed that recently the accused was booked for threatening traders in Central Kotwali area. The accused was arrested and sent to Bhopal Jail.

Infant found dead in nullah

An infant was found dead in a nullah at Junarisala in Sadar Bazaar area on Tuesday.

According to police, an unidentified woman was booked for abandoning her infant child leading to death. The local residents spotted the body and immediately informed the police after which the infant was sent to hospital where doctors declared brought dead. The police have sent the body for autopsy and booked deceased’s mother under Section 318 of the IPC and are trying to trace the accused.

Man thrashed by three

A man was allegedly thrashed and threatened by three persons following an altercation in MG Road area on Tuesday.

According to police, complainant Chandrashekhar Pachori alleged that accused Chandan Singh, Aditya Bagdi alias Bittu and Suraj hurled abuses on him over some disputes. However, when the victim tried to stop them, the accused thrashed him causing severe injuries. Later, the accused threatened Pachori and fled from the scene.
