HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. -- The Huntersville Police Department released the identities of the man killed and the burglary suspect in Monday's deadly shooting.
On Monday, Huntersville PD responded to a call of a breaking and entering at a residence in the 17000 block of Northstar Drive. Upon arrival, officers found two suspects at the scene.

Officers found 24-year-old Jaylin Griffith with a gunshot wound. Griffith was later pronounced dead from his injuries, according to Huntersville PD.
Kevin Stevenson, 26, sustained minor injuries while trying to flee the scene on foot. He was transported to a local hospital after being found at the scene with minor injuries.
After being released from the hospital, Stevenson was charged with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree burglary, robbery with a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm by a felon, conspiracy to commit first-degree burglary and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.
