1935 - 2018
Audrey Voll, 82, of Pekin, passed away peacefully at 12:45 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2018, at her home in Pekin, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on Mar. 9, 1935 in Pekin, and graduated from Pekin Community High School in 1953. She was married to Airman Don Voll on May 21, 1955. Audrey worked at Flavor Isle, Roehr’s Insurance, Commercial Credit, and Court Motors. Later in life, she enjoyed working at the 8th Street Dairy Queen with her two daughters. She was a loving wife, mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Audrey was a faithful follower of Jesus. She was a former member of Pekin Bible Church and a member of Normandale Reformed Church where she taught Sunday School, Bible School and sang in the choir. We are confident she is in her eternal home with her Savior in Heaven.
Audrey is survived by her husband, Don Voll; two loving daughters, Valerie (Dave) Bland of Pekin and Cindy (Nathan Bauer) Rineberg of Pekin; five grandchildren, Jake (Ali) Bland of Parker, Colo., Matt (Heather) Rineberg of Orlando, Fla., Meredith (Dr. Ben) Washburn of Columbia, Mo., Joe Bland of Santa Clarita, Calif., and Derek Rineberg of Pekin; two great-grandchildren, Silas and Ivy Bland of Parker, Colo.; many nieces and nephews; and by her furry baby, Pepper. Audrey will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Harmon and Gertrude Bessie (Coers) Vonderheide, and 11 brothers and sisters.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, at Normandale Reformed Church. Pastor Dave Craig will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at Preston Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin.
The Voll family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Sumer for his years of compassionate care, and to Michelle and the OSF Hospice team for their comforting help over the last nine months.
Memorial contributions may be made to Youth for Christ or Normandale Reformed Church.
We love you, Mom, and thank you for all your generosity and sacrificial love for us over the years.
