BOZEMAN — All five Montana State starters scored points in double digits Thursday night as the Bobcats rolled past North Dakota 72-56 in Big Sky Conference women's basketball.
Rebekah Hatchard led the way for MSU (13-8, 7-3) with a career-high 18 points. Oliana Squires chipped in with 14, followed by Madeline Smith (11), Delany Junkermier (10) and Hannah Caudilll (10) in the scoring column.
Caudill's assist on a Blair Braxton basket at the 6:10 mark of the first quarter gave her the school's all-time record for career assists. She now sits in first with 450. Caudill broke the record of 443 set by Vicki Heebner-Carle from 1980-84. Carle is now the Billings Skyview girls volleyball coach.
Smith added a team-high seven rebounds.
MSU led 17-10 after one quarter and stretched that to 35-17 by halftime.
The Bobcats shot 47 percent, while North Dakota (10-11, 3-7) hit 32 percent of its shots.
MSU knocked down 10 of 30 3-point shots. North Dakota went 2 of 18 from 3-point territory.
North Dakota's Fallyn Freije led all scorers with 23 points. She also grabbed nine rebounds.
