Brazilian winger Lucas joins Tottenham from PSG

Brazilian winger has made a permanent move from leaders Paris Saint-Germain to League outfit Tottenham Hotspur, both clubs announced.

Lucas, 25, will wear the number 27 jersey in Spurs with his contract until 2023, reports

"It's a new chapter in my life, a new challenge for me. I've joined a big club with big players and I look forward to playing and helping the team," Lucas told Spurs' website.

Since joining in January, 2013, Lucas has made 229 appearances, more than any other Brazilian player in the team's history, scoring 46 goals and providing 50 assists.

He won four titles, three French Cups and four French League Cups with Capped 34 times for Brazil, he won the Confederations Cup in 2013.

However, Lucas was out of favour in following his compatriot Neymar's record fee arrival. He showed huge disappointment at failing to position himself in the team in a recent interview.

Without any appearance for in this season, he is eligible to play for Spurs in the European elite club tournament.

"He always gave his very best to try and help the team win.

I would like to thank him for the five years he played with the Paris Saint-Germain jersey," declared

"I can play in the Champions League, which is a big objective for me and to make new friends is always a pleasure. I will give my best for this club. I think we have a lot of quality and I think we can win big things," said Lucas.
