FAYETTEVILLE - Mr. Roy Turner of Fayetteville died Friday, January 26, 2018 at Duke University Hospital. He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Elsa Pollmann Turner of Fairfield, California and his parents-in-law, John McNatt and Mary Stewart Johnson Gillis of the Galatia Church community in Cumberland County. Mr. Turner is survived by his wife, Jane Gillis Turner, his daughter, Mary Stewart Turner Mudryk, her husband Jason and their sons, Matthew, Andrew and John of Raleigh. He is survived by his son Daniel Turner and his wife Jessica West Turner of Wilmington, his sister Juanita Turner Keranen and her husband, Roger, of Salem, SC, and two nieces, Kristin Keranen of New York, NY and Katherine Keranen of Atlanta, GA. He was a member of Galatia Presbyterian Church where he served as Sunday school treasurer, church treasurer, deacon and elder. Mr. Turner served in the US Air Force, volunteered at Lake Rim Volunteer Fire Department and served on the Cumberland County Joint Planning Board. He was a blood donor for over thirty years. The family will receive friends between the hours of 10:00 and 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Galatia Presbyterian Church with Funeral Services at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Brett Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Galatia Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 8800 Galatia Church Road, Fayetteville, NC 28304.
