Toyota/Mazda
wanted to be No. 1
John Floyd has stated several times in his columns that they probably never knew we had a site in Etowah County and continues to blame state and local leaders.
I’ll assure you that the Toyota/Mazda officials doing an 11-state search knew about Etowah County. We have a very good site that happens to be 45 minutes from the Honda plant. Gadsden has a lot of people that live here and work at Honda.
Toyota/Mazda are not going to put a large plant close to another large plant. They want to be the No. 1 job producer in the their area. They do not want to compete with another car plant.

Can we ever vote
for person, not party?
The U.S. Senate race in Alabama had two men running. One, we didn’t know that well, Doug Jones. One we knew all too well, Roy Moore.
Now ol’ Roy rides his donkey backward, but he belongs to the ruling party in Alabama, or I might say name plate.
These two name plates, called Democrats and Republicans, cause much hate in our country. But it is the only way we have to vote.
But I have faith that some day we can vote for the best human to run our country.
