Brimfield, Falls juveniles charged with vehicle break-ins, cops say

BRIMFIELD — Investigations into reported thefts from vehicles parked in two township neighborhoods in November 2017 and last month have led to charges against several area juveniles.

Police said Thursday on their Twitter page that charges are pending against juveniles from both Brimfield and Cuyahoga Falls.

"We will be working to return any recovered property to victims," they wrote.

Officers took reports on thefts from vehicles in the Beechcrest allotment in November, in particular along Duffield and Cherrywood roads, along Route 43.

Most of the break-ins took place overnight, typically between 1:30 and 9:30 a.m. Wallets, credit cards, a television and a crossbow were among the stolen items, police said. Several stolen bicycles were recovered.

Additional reports were filed in late January about vehicle break-ins in the area of Olmsby and Morley drives off Ranfield Road, again with the thieves operating at night and seeking unlocked vehicles containing valuables.

Police encourage the public to make sure their vehicles are locked overnight and all valuables taken inside so as not to attract thieves.
