VERMILLION, S.D. | South Dakota built a 21-point lead in the third quarter and held on for a 92-81 win over Western Illinois in a Summit League women's basketball game played at the Sanford Coyote Sports Center Thursday.
The Coyotes hit 13 of 26 shots from 3-point range and improved to 9-0 in league games (18-5 overall). Jaycee Bradley scored 21 points and was among five USD players that hit double figures scoring. Jasmine Trimboli came off the bench to add 17 while Kate Liveringhouse also had 15, Madison McKeever 14 and Ciara Duffy 13. The win was the 12th straight for South Dakota.
Western Illinois, the defending Summit League champs, got 28 points from Taylor Higginbotham and 21 from reigning Summit player of the year Emily Clemens.
