The Emmerdale cast member – played by Katherine Dow Blyton – begged for her church job back in tonight's show.
But bishop George quickly stopped the vicar in her tracks, telling her the position had already been filled and there was no going back.
Harriet ranted: "I've made a massive mistake.
"I've just realised I love this parish and I love these people, and I thought I wasn't good enough for them. But they've made me seem like I am."

"Only it isn't down to them," snapped the bishop.
She continued: "Please, I know it was a mess. I just want the chance to prove myself to you."
But the damage had already been done.
"Well it's too late, this can't be undone," blasted the bishop, "Everything's in place. And if it wasn't, I wouldn't be comfortable with you in this role."

Harriet
This extends Harriet's string of bad luck this month, which started when she quit the church to be with Cain Dingle.
Just after sacrificing her career, Cain dumped her for feeling guilty over cheating on her with Moira Dingle. Ouch.
As Harriet faced even more devastation tonight, viewers saw Cain get back with Moira.
Despite Harriet's heartache, audiences were quick to demand that she left the Dales for good.

One person tweeted: "Go away Harrie,t you're so boring."
"I hope Harriet leaves and Moira stays," begged another.
Is there much point in Harriet sticking around now seeing as she's got no career and no boyfriend?
