Glee star found dead

LOS ANGELES • Just weeks after former Glee star Mark Salling had pleaded guilty to charges of possessing child pornography, the 35-year-old was found dead on Tuesday in the Tujunga area of Los Angeles.

The cause was an apparent suicide, various media reported.

Salling's breakout role came as a football player-turned-singer in the hit musical-comedy series Glee. He starred as Noah "Puck" Puckerman for four seasons and returned as a recurring guest, including during its 2015 series finale.

Months after the finale, he was arrested on child pornography charges. His plea agreement, struck with prosecutors in October, carried a four-to seven-year sentence.

A sentencing hearing was scheduled for March 7. After his indictment, he was dropped by Adi Shankar from the Gods And Secrets superhero project.

Before the child pornography case, Salling made the news when an ex-girlfriend sued him in 2013 for sexual battery. He settled the suit.

Along with Glee, his credits included an appearance in Walker, Texas Ranger and television movie Rocky Road.

He was also a musician. Under the stage name Jericho, he released Smoke Signals in 2008 and Pipe Dreams in 2010.
