EASTTOWN>> A Haverford Township School District bus veered off the road and crashed into a telephone pole on Darby-Paoli Road (Route 252) just after 2 p.m. Thursday. There were no children on the bus at the time of the accident, according to police at the scene.
Easttown police say the older driver who was bloodied but able to walk, was taken to Paoli Hospital by Paoli Fire Company ambulance.
The bus was headed northbound at the time of the accident. A driver going in the other direction on the heavily traveled road stopped and aided the driver. He told police he saw no other cars were involved. A highway marker sign was also run over and tire tracks could be seen along the edge the embankment for a distance leading up to the crash.
Route 252 was closed through the afternoon as crews removed the bus and damaged pole.
