DeFUNIAK SPRINGS — Four people from Jacksonville Beach escaped injury Thursday after their pickup truck crashed on Interstate 10 and caught fire, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Sara Artz, 27, was driving a 2017 Ford F-150 west in the outside lane about 12:20 p.m. when she lost control just west of U.S. Highway 331, the FHP said in a press release. The truck veered onto the north shoulder, were it hit a tree and caught fire.
Walton County sheriff's deputies shut down the outside lane of I-10 while rescuers worked the crash.
Passengers in the truck were John Gates, 26, John Artz, 69, and Justin Thompson 30, the FHP reported. Everyone in the truck was wearing a seat belt.
No charges were filed.
