HOOKSETT - A 30-year-old convicted felon is behind bars after police say they discovered a large knife in his vehicle during a traffic stop.

Police said Adam Dube of Hooksett was pulled over for speeding Wednesday at about 7:15 p.m. by officer Richard Fosher.

“While officer Fosher was speaking with Dube, he observed a large bladed weapon on the rear seat,” police said in a news release. “It was discovered to be 14-inch, fixed-blade knife.”

In 2017, Dube was convicted in Merrimack County Superior Court of a Class B felony for possession of a controlled drug; he was forbidden from possessing any firearms or deadly weapons.

Dube was arrested and charged with being a felon in possession of a deadly weapon.

He was bailed on $5,000 personal recognizance and given a court date of Feb. 15.

He was then taken to the Merrimack County House of Corrections on a 72-hour hold by probation and parole.
