The Faculty of Medicine invites applications for a
Professorship (W2) (6 years/tenure track)
of Interventional Radiology with focus on Medical Engineering
commencing as soon as possible.
This professorship will be located at the Department of Radiology
of the Klinikum of LMU Munich. The applicant will represent the field of Interventional Radiology as part of Radiology in clinics, research and academic teaching. Dominant part of this position will be development, preclinical and clinical validation of applications and technologies in Medical Engineering. Knowledge and experience in MR-guided intervention and the according technologies is of specific interest. The applicant is expected to be experienced in experimental interventional Radiology including scientific work with according small and large animal models. In addition, the applicant must demonstrate profound experience in the clinical management
of patients in Interventional Radiology including the conduct of clinical studies.
The position includes responsibilities in the clinical management of patients in the Radiology clinic.
LMU Munich seeks to appoint a highly qualified junior academic to this professorship and, therefore, especially encourages early-career scholars to apply. Prerequisites for this position are a university degree, a doctoral degree or a comparable specific qualification and a board certification in Radiology. With an excellent record in research and teaching to date, prospective candidates will have demonstrated the potential for an outstanding academic career.
The initial appointment will be for six years. After a minimum of three years, it can be converted into a permanent position pending a positive evaluation of the candidateís performance in research and teaching as well as his or her personal aptitude and if all legal conditions are met.
