The Eastern Michigan Kenworth and Central Michigan Kenworth truck dealerships have been acquired by the Madison, Wis.-based trucking services firm CSM Cos. Inc.
The acquisitions include a total of four dealerships in Dearborn, Clinton Township, Lansing and Saginaw. They were purchased from the Berger Dealer Group LLC and will operate under the CSM subsidiary Michigan Kenworth, which also owns locations in Grand Rapids and Gaylord.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"This acquisition brings together Michigan Kenworth and Eastern and Central Michigan Kenworth dealer groups into one, heavily supporting the state of Michigan under the ownership of CSM," Emily Smith, marketing manager of CSM, said via email.
Jesse Berger became the youngest Kenworth Trucks dealership owner in the U.S. after acquiring the Eastern Michigan Kenworth in April 2006. He was a Crain's 40 under 40 honoree in 2008.
CSM owns 19 commercial truck dealerships representing Kenworth, Mack, Capacity and Fontaine Trailers.
