Junior captain Trinity Grenier had 23 points, including a buzzer-beating 3-pointer, as Assabet (3-10) defeated Bay Path, 46-45, in a non-league girls basketball game on Wednesday.

Sophomore Sharon Rivera added eight points in the win.

“[Grenier] had it going tonight,” Assabet coach John Silk said. “She struggled the past few games, but she hit some shots early and got some confidence. We drew up a play for her and she made a great play and a great shot.”

Assabet plays at Valley Tech on Friday at 6:30 p.m.

TRI-COUNTY 57, SOUTHEASTERN 56 (OT): Senior Tori Maynard had a career-high 33 points and added seven rebounds as Tri-County (5-5, 2-2 ML) edged Mayflower League opponent Southeastern in an overtime game.

Carolyn McPherson had 10 points and seven rebounds. Abby DeFlores had four points and hit two key free throws to put Tri-County up 57-54 with 10 seconds remaining.

Following the free throws, Southeastern hit a 2-point shot to come within one point of Tri-County. Southeastern stole the ensuing inbound pass and had a chance at a game-winning shot.

“They had a clean look at a baseline jumper, but luckily it hit the back of the rim and popped out,” sai Tri-County coach Julie Caffrey.

Tri-County plays at Blue Hills on Friday at 5 p.m.

NIPMUC 53, BLACKSTONE-MILLVILLE 50: Senior Leah Fitzgerald scored 14 points and hit two crucial free throws in the final minute of the game for Nipmuc (3-12) in a win over Blackstone-Millville in a Dual Valley Conference game.

Sophomore Taylor Johnson scored 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds, and junior Lauren Hunter scored seven points and grabbed 12 rebounds for Nipmuc.

Nipmuc plays at Douglas Friday at 6:30 p.m.

Boys Basketball

MILLIS 43, BELLINGHAM 41: Senior guard Bryce Latosek led the way for Millis with 14 points to help the host Mohawks (5-9, 3-8 TVL) edge Tri-Valley League opponent Bellingham.

Freshman center Jackson McKersie added six points and eight rebounds for the Mohawks, who led 18-16 at the half and 32-21 heading to the fourth quarter.

Junior guard Philip Jones led the Blackhawks with 12 points and junior forward Mike Reissfelder notched 10 points in the loss.

Millis hosts Westwood on Friday at 6:30 p.m.

SUTTON 66, HOPEDALE 54: Junior guard Gabe Terando had 14 points for Hopedale (6-9).

Sophomore Dan Liberatore had a team-high 15 points in the loss for the Blue Raiders.

Sutton led 34-25 at halftime.

Hopedale heads to Blackstone-Millville on Friday at 6:30 p.m.

BLACKSTONE-MILLVILLE 63, NIPMUC 49: Senior Kyle Downing had 11 points, but Nipmuc (8-4, 4-4 DVC) fell to Blackstone-Millville in a Dual Valley Conference contest.

Nipmuc hosts Douglas on Friday at 6:30 p.m.

SOUTHEASTERN 77, TRI-COUNTY 25: Tri-County (3-9, 0-4 ML) fell to Mayflower League foe Southeastern in a Mayflower League game.

Tri-County hosts Blue Hills on Friday at 6:30 p.m.

Gymnastics

ALGONQUIN 138.7, WESTBOROUGH 124.2: Aaliyah Yan placed first in the all-around (35.1) fueled by victories on the vault (8.8) and floor exercise (9.2) as Algonquin defeated Westborough in a non-league meet.

Westborough junior Caitlyn Johnson took second on floor with a 9.1.

Sophomore Diya Mathew finished in third place in the all-around with a total of 32.5 points.

Westborough competes at Marlborough on Saturday at 3 p.m.

Boys Swimming

RIVALS IN CONTENTION AFTER FIRST DAY OF BSC CHAMPIONSHIPS: Senior captain Sean Andrews placed second in the diving with 237 points to help Framingham finish tied for second with Natick after the first day of the Bay State Conference Swimming and Diving Championships at Newton North.

The Flyers and Redhawks each have 38 points heading into the second day and Wellesley is tied for fourth with 31 points. Needham is leading with 43 points and Brookline rounds out the top five with 20 points.

Sophomore Leone Kissler placed sixth in the 500 for the Flyers with a time of 5:09.33

Natick had divers finish fourth and fifth, as junior Kyle Burati took fourth with 223.8 points and sophomore Max Weisman was fifth with 213.45 points.

The Redhawks also got a fifth-place finish from freshman Antonio Arena in the 500 in a time of 5:09.15.

Boys Indoor Track

NATICK 68, WALPOLE 23: Senior Owen Chase came second in the 1,000-meter run, lowering his own school record in the process with a time of 2:35.14 as Natick (5-0, 4-0 BSC) beat Walpole in a Bay State Conference meet.

With the win, the Redhawks claimed the BSC Herget Division title.

Pat McQuillen Jr. came in first in the 55-meter dash with a personal-best time of 7.04 seconds while Paul Neilan Jr. finished first in the mile with a personal best of 4:35.

Natick next races on Wednesday in the Bay State Conference Championship.

Girls Indoor Track

NATICK 55, WALPOLE 45: Junior Grace Connolly won the mile in a league best time of 4:57.87 as visiting Natick (3-2) finished off its regular season with a victory over Bay State Conference opponent Walpole.

Junior Catie Hodges won the shot put (32-6 ¼), sophomore Kylie Langan won the 300 in 45.6, freshman Emma Forde won the 2-mile in 11:58.56, and freshman Kate Connolly took the 1,000 with a time of 3:07.17 for the Redhawks.

Natick next competes in the BSC meet on Wednesday at the Reggie Lewis Center at 5 p.m.
