The Chittagong University (CU) authorities yesterday suspended eight students, including six activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) for alleged involvement in cheating in admission test and internal examination.
The decision was made at a meeting of the board of Residence Health and Disciplinary committee, confirmed CU Assistant Proctor Litan Mitra.
BCL activisists Raihanul Haque, Md Shahidullah, Isteyak Ahmed Sowrov, Shariful Islam Nazmul, Saddam Hossain and Julkarnain have been suspended for facilitating cheating during the admission tests. All of them are students of different departments at CU.
Also, Shahidul Islam and Saidul Islam, two students of economics department, have been suspended for cheating in internal examinations.
The suspension has been made effective from yesterday, authorities said.
