(MENAFN - Gulf Times) Experienced Moroccan player Rachid Tiberkanine produced two classy goals to help Al Kharaitiyat hold powerful Al Sailiya to a 2-2 draw in Week 15 of the QNB Stars League yesterday.
Wagner Ribeiro's strike (35th minute) and a powerful long-range shot by Majdi Siddiq (58th) twice gave Al Sailiya the lead. However, tireless Rachid produced a brace (45th and 85th) to help his side share points at the Al Khor Stadium.
Wagner broke the deadlock after numerous attempts by Al Sailiya at the Al Kharaitiyat goal. Following a goalmouth melee, he produced a classy left-footed drive that crashed into the net past a host of Al Kharaitiyat players. Two minutes from the first-half whistle, Wagner wasted an easy opportunity to score from close range when he had only the goalkeeper to beat.
In injury time, Al Kharaitiyat pulled of a spectacular equaliser. Anwar Diba clipped a cross for Rachid who flicked the ball into the net with the minutest of angles to work on from the edge of the Al Sailiya box. It was Rachid's ninth goal of the season.
Al Sailiya scored their second goal when Majdi found the net with a long-range effort. Five minutes from the final whistle, Rachid flicked the ball into the net off a cross from Mohammed Al Yazidi to bring Al Kharaitiyat level with Al Sailiya.
