College campuses are seeing a surge in activity by white supremacists. That's according to the Anti-Defamation League, a group that monitors extremism in the U.S.
In a report released Thursday, the group says fliers, banners and stickers with white supremacist messages were found on college and university campuses 147 times last fall. That's up from 41 the year before.
The nonprofit group says it appears white supremacists have felt emboldened by the nation's political and racial tensions and see colleges as fertile ground for recruiting.
The report says schools in Texas have been targeted the most, with 61 cases since September 2016, followed by California, with 43, and 18 in Pennsylvania.
Most of the activity has been blamed on a small number of white nationalist groups.
