These opinions are not the Courier’s. Callers are not required to identify themselves, so we can verify neither sources nor motives. You may also anonymously submit a comment online at http://coastalcourier.com/forms/soundoff.
“Why does the Coastal Courier waste space on printing the horoscopes? Who believes that stuff?”
“Diana Reid is not doing a good job. She’s just going around with a loud mouth and insulting people. Charles Frasier you need to come back and get your job next election.”
“I’d like to thank Dr. Franklin Perry, our superintendent, for keeping children and staff safe and warm at home during the winter storm.”
“If Trump was a democrat would Paul Ryan be making up excuses about him or would he be filing articles of impeachment. I think the latter, maybe its time for Republicans in the House to put the country and the constitution before their party. It is time to impeach Trump.”
“What has happened to the sports page of the Courier. How are the people of Liberty County supposed to keep up with their local sports teams like Bradwell Institute and Liberty County High. Please bring it back.”
“What another subdivision in Long county? We cannot handle what we have. When will this stupidity end? How are you going to pay for the needed services?”
“So the government shutdown was because the Republicans wanted money for the wall? I thought Mexico was supposed to pay for it. Isn’t that what Trump said?”
“Government shut down: People this is what happens when you don’t vote. You ended up with a dysfunctional government, with a dysfunctional president at the helm. 1,000 days until the next presidential election. Get out the vote!”
“Army-Navy football: There were people in wheelchairs there. So, yes. Some people were seated. Way to view handicapped people as sub-human.”
Let's hit the high points today:
1. If slick Willy - oops I mean Bill Clinton - couldn't be impeached, what makes you think Trump can?
2. The government "shut down" occurred because ALL politicians in Washington used it as a threat to get what THEY wanted. But look at the vote count. You will see that Democrats voted for the shutdown more than Republicans did. I THINK THEY ALL NEED NEW JOBS.
3. Surely no one criticized people in wheel chairs for not standing.
4. Get out and vote is good advice for everyone. Democrats and Independents DID get out and vote. What happened was that Republicans who had formerly felt there was no point finally got out and did the same. What that last election ought to teach everyone is that having a government that is one-sided is NOT the best thing for the country. We need to find some common ground and stop being so divided.
