APPLETON - A driver involved in a hit-and-run crash Tuesday night in Brown County led police on a high-speed chase in Outagamie County.

The hit-and-run crash happened at about 10:30 p.m. on Interstate 41 near Brown County S, according to the Wisconsin State Patrol.

A police officer tried to stop a vehicle speeding near Wrightstown Road in Outagamie County a short time later, but the driver of the vehicle accelerated and refused to stop.

The chase was terminated by police, but moments later the fleeing driver crashed into the back of another vehicle on I-41 near College Avenue.

The driver had a medical condition and was taken to a local hospital. No injuries were reported in either crash.
