The UK Government has confirmed its commitment to sign up to the Tech Talent Charter to help tackle the gender imbalance in the technology workforce. It will write to technology companies asking them to sign up to the charter.

The charter covers all organisations employing people in technology roles. Signatories will commit to including women on interview shortlists wherever possible, and to collect and submit anonymised data for an annual diversity report. The scheme already has more than 125 signatories including Cisco, Dell and Sage.
