MOST ACCURATE FORECAST: The 80s stick around for a while!
PHOENIX - Topping 80 degrees again on Wednesday made four straight days of 80 degrees or greater in Phoenix, the longest stretch of its kind for January.
January 2018 is likely going down in third place among the top five warmest Januarys on record.
February kicks off with Valley highs reaching the upper 70s to low 80s each afternoon all the way through the weekend and early next week.
Daily records are in the low to mid 80s for the rest of the week, so most of those should stay safe, but Friday's record of 82 degrees could be in jeopardy. Our forecast right now puts us within a couple degrees of that as we wrap up the week.
As temperatures stay in the low 80s through the weekend, we are tracking one of the warmest Phoenix Open forecasts ever.
Air quality also worsens over the next few days and a Health Watch has been issued for today as our dust concentrations approach unhealthy levels. We could be under a High Pollution Advisory by Friday, so plan accordingly and limit your time outside if you suffer from respiratory issues.
