The Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating a drive-by shooting that left an 18-year-old man wounded Wednesday evening.
According to a release from IPSO, the incident occurred around 7:23 p.m. on Lombard Street near South Hopkins Street.
Witnesses say a group of males were standing on the sidewalk talking when a white vehicle drove by and an occupant shot at them, the release states. An 18-year-old man was struck once.
The victim, who was not identified, was transported to a Lafayette hospital with a non-life-threatening wound.
