Inspector likely to be suspended

A police Inspector left two persons injured and three vehicles damaged when the four-wheeler he was driving in a drunken condition rammed them at Yapral in Jawaharnagar on Monday. Rachakonda police higher-ups are likely to suspend him.

When subjected to breath analyser test Inspector G. Girish Rao, who earlier worked as Detective Inspector of Jawaharnagar police station, was found to have more than 200 mg blood alcohol content, Kushaiguda ACP P Krishna Murthy said. The limit for blood alcohol content is 30 mg. Mr. Rao is working as an Instructor at Police Training Centre in Medchal.

At around 8.15 p.m., the Inspector was passing by Yapral in his Multi-Purpose Vehicle when he lost control and hit a two-wheeler and an auto-rickshaw. Passers-by intercepted his vehicle as he tried to speed away. The Jawaharnagar police rushed to the spot and detained him.

A case was registered against him. Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh M. Bhagwath said that departmental action would be initiated against Mr. Girish.

The vehicle in which he was driving is registered in the name of Surekha Gauri and has four pending challans. A legal notice was issued for the challans on November 30, 2015.
