Governor Anandiben Patel on Monday visited Shaurya Sthal and paid homage to martyrs at Shaheed Smarak. Principal Secretary, Culture Department Manoj Shrivastava and other senior officers were also present on the occasion.
The Governor said that the activities of the Army and the Sainiks at the border have been exhibited very well at the Smarak. It looks as if one is visiting the border itself. She lauded the State Government for setting up the Shaurya Smarak. She said that this is the proof of the strong will power of the state government.
Patel said that the photographs and portrayal of war and the activities at the border is unique. The warfare and the situation at the Kashmir border have been portrayed in such a manner that one’s sentiments that arise towards the sainiks remain forever. Smt. Patel said that the sainiks should be made to meet school and college students.
She said that it is the result of the sacrifices made by them that we are able to sleep in Independent India. The tale of valour of every martyr of our country is history for us. All children and youths should visit the Shaurya Smarak.
Governor Patel said that children should visit this spot along with their parents so that they get inspiration of patriotism and service of the country. She also paid floral tributes at the soil (Shaurya Raj) brought from the martyrs’ villages in Madhya Pradesh.
