KANNUR: P Jayarajan has been elected as CPM Kannur district secretary. This was made possible as majority of district representatives supported Jayarajan.

Besides Jayarajan, 49 member district committee was also elected. Six among them are fresh faces.

P Jayarajan took over as district secretary in December, 2010 after P Sasi was expelled from that post.’
In the district conference held at Payyannur in 2012 and at Koothuparambu in 2015, Jayarajan was again selected as district secretary.

Kizhakke Kadiroor native P Jayarajan has represented Koothuparambu three times in Assembly.
