At least four persons were killed and four others injured in separate road accidents in three districts- Kishoreganj, Rajshahi and Barguna, in two days.
KISHOREGANJ: Two minors were killed in two separate road accidents in the district on Saturday.
In one accident, a minor girl was killed at Majitpur Village on Kishoreganj-Pakundia Road in Pakundia Upazila.
The victim was identified as Setu, 7, daughter of Alamin of the upazila.
Locals and police said a speedy tractor ran over the girl while she was returning from Kochikacha Kindergarten, leaving her dead on the spot.
Sub-Inspector of Pakundia Police Station Reaj Uddin confirmed the matter. A case was filed in this connection.
In another accident, a minor boy was killed at Dubajura area in Mithamoin Upazila.
Police said the accident took place on Mithamoin-Gagra Submercibul Road at Dubajura Village of the upazila.
The deceased was identified as Rimon, 7, son of Nur Mohammad of Maishakandi Village under the upazila.
Witnesses said an auto-rickshaw ran over the boy when he was crossing the road in the area, leaving him dead on the spot.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mithamoin Police Station (PS) Md. Alamgir Hossain confirmed the news. A case was filed in this connection.
RAJSHAHI: A van driver was killed and two others were injured as a truck hit him at Jholmolia Ajrailer crossing area in Puthia Upazila of the district on Sunday morning.
The victim was identified as Mokles Ali.
Puthia PS OC Sayedur Rahman Bhuiyan confirmed the matter.
Witnesses said a Rajshahi-bound truck knocked a van in the area, leaving the van-driver dead on the spot and two others injured.
The injured were admitted to Upazila Health Complex.
Shibpur Police Outpost In-charge Habibur Rahman said a case was filed with Highway Police Station.
BARGUNA: A man was killed and two others were injured in a road accident at Choto Bhaijora Village on Amtali-Taltoli road in Taltoli Upazila of the district on Saturday night.
The deceased was identified as Afan Uddin Fakir 45, hailed from M Baliatali Village of Barguna Sadar Upazila.
Police and local sources said, a speedy bus of Rafin Safin Paribahan ran over Arfan Uddin and his two relatives while they were going to Nidrarchar Village to participate in a namaz-e-janaza of his relative around 8pm on Saturday, leaving Afan dead on the spot and two others injured seriously.
The injured were taken to Taltoli hospital in a critical condition.
Taltoli PS OC Pulak Chandra Roy said an unnatural death case was filed with Taltoli PS in this connection.
