A 30-year-old woman, her mother, and five-year-old daughter, were found murdered in their house here in Chandanagar while her 'husband' surrendered before police admitting to the killings.
Decomposed bodies of G. Aparna Devi, 30, Vijayalakshmi, 48, and Karthikeyi, 5, were found in their rented portion on first floor of a three-storeyed building in Chandanagar. The highly decomposed bodies suggest that they were killed at least three days earlier, said Madhapur DCP of Cyberabad P. Vishwa Prasad.
Their deaths came to light on Monday when a neighbour complained that foul smell. “We got a call from the house owner and a constable found the portion's door locked. He peeped through window only to see a woman lying on the floor,” the DCP said.
Police broke open the doors and found Aparna, her daughter and mother killed. “Injuries on Aparna's head indicated she was hit with a blunt object, but death of the other two remained a mystery as they had no external injuries,” the investigators said. However, Aparna's 'husband' R. Madhu, who surrendered before the police, cleared the air on the killings.
A mobile phone store owner, Madhu hailed from Palakollu of West Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh. While studying intermediate, he met Aparna. They wanted to get married but their families opposed it since they belonged to different communities. He eventually got married to Yamini.
Aparna was not married and shifted to Hyderabad for a job. Eight years ago, Madhu too shifted to the city. “They happened to meet in city and started a live-in relationship. Kartikeyi was born to them,” police officers associated with the investigation of the case said. However, of late, they developed differences over financial matters and reportedly quarrelled frequently.
Madhu had decided to kill Aparna as he couldn’t meet her financial demands and accused her of harassing him by calling his wife Yamini. On Saturday afternoon, he went to Aparna’s house after getting drunk. Aparna was at her workplace. He strangled her mother after an altercation.
“As the daughter screamed with fear, he killed her in similar fashion,” the investigators said. When Aparna returned home, he pretended that they were sleeping. When the unsuspecting woman went to the fridge for water, he came from behind and bludgeoned her head with a pestle and fled. Aparna was working as mobile sales executive in an electronic store in Chandanagar.
