Contract dispute over Chow's Vegas movies

Actor Chow Yun Fat's management company has sued the producer of the From Vegas To Macau trilogy for breach of contract, asking Bona Film Group to produce the contract documents and make compensation payments. Chow and his wife, Jasmine Tan are directors of Artistic Talent Productions, which filed the suit in Hong Kong's High Court last week, said Ming Pao Daily News. Tan said the suit was filed by the company, not Chow, and added: "Some terms of the contract need to be addressed. I believe it can be resolved soon."

Maze Runner finale is No.1

Six films from 20th Century Fox appeared on the weekend box-office chart, giving the studio more than 50 per cent of ticket sales in North America.

One of them, Maze Runner: The Death Cure, arrived to about US$23.5 million (S$30.7 million), dethroning Sony's Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle as the No. 1 attraction.

Another, The Greatest Showman, delivered about US$9.5 million (No. 4). Three Oscar-nominated dramas - The Post, The Shape Of Water and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri - took in an additional US$18.2 million for Fox and its speciality label, Fox Searchlight.

Rounding out the Fox portfolio was the animated Ferdinand, with about US$1 million.
