Woodstock Academy Gold team routs Cheshire Academy

WOODSTOCK – The Woodstock Academy Gold Prep boys basketball team rolled past Cheshire Academy, 128-66, on Sunday at the Alumni Fieldhouse. Six players scored in double figures for the Centaurs who shook off a loss on Saturday to score their 22nd win in 25 games.
Guard Jakigh Dottin led the Centaurs with 21 points. Chaylyn Martin, Joe Kasperszyk, Luis Rodriguez and Tre Mitchell all scored 14 points while Marquis Moore added 13. 
The Centaurs traveled to Masters School on Saturday and lost in Simsbury, 85-78. Mitchell and Ty Perry led the Centaurs with 16 points.
Boys Prep Basketball
Monroe Community College 96, Woodstock Academy Blue 90
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Gedi Juozapaitis scored 35 points, E.J. Dambreville 23 and Danny Dade 18, but the Centaurs fell to 14-8 with the loss.
Girls Prep Basketball
Putnam Science Academy 42, Durham Elite  35
NEW YORK – Towson University commit Aislinn Flynn came back after more than a month out with an injury to contribute nine points and seven rebounds to the Mustangs (13-8) victory at The Mecca in the Bronx.
Kayla Robinson led Putnam Science Academy with 15 points.

 WOODSTOCK – Matt Odom scored a pair of goals to lead the Centaurs (4-6) past the Wildcats (5-7) at the Jahn Ice Rink in Pomfret. Odom poked a shot over the shoulder of Suffield-Granby-Windsor Locks goalie Dan DeGagne with 57 seconds left in the first period.
He scored again with 34 seconds left in the second period when a shot from Jacob Black was stopped by DeGagne, but the rebound ended up on Odom’s stick.
Jake Starr added what proved to be the game-winner with 12:31 to play with an assist from Guerin Favreau and Ethan Thorpe.

Lyman Memorial 62 , Tourtellotte 56 (OT)
THOMPSON - David Lopez, Jr. scored 25 points as the Bulldogs (5-6) prevailed in a back and forth game. Lyman came back from five points down with 1:50 left in regulation to take a three point lead, but the Tigers’ Ben Leveille made a 3-pointer to tie the game at 50 with seconds left to force overtime. Tourtellotte fell to 5-8.

Woodstock Academy 51, Longmeadow, Mass.  45 (OT)
 WOODSTOCK – Kalianna Dingui scored five points and Heather Converse three in overtime to push the Centaurs past the Lancers.
Coverse finished with 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Centaurs (11-4) while Dingui added 15 and Jamie Woods finished with 11 points and eight boards.

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Carlos Gonzalez had a team-high 16 points and Tarchee Brown added 15 points to lift the No. 17 Warriors (18-2, 9-0 LEC) to their eighth straight win.

GROTON - Tyrel Martinez collected 26 points, 12 rebounds and six assists in the Pointers’ loss to the No. 1 ranked team in the nation. Jacee Hamelin had 14 points and Elijah Malbouef-Boyd added 13 points for UConn-Avery Point.

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Sophomore forward Mya Villard (Cromwell) scored a game-high 22 points to lead the Warriors (9-10, 6-3) to their sixth straight win.
