Officers: Pizza delivery driver shoots would-be robber
ATLANTA - A would-be robber got more than he bargained for when he attempted to steal from an Atlanta pizza delivery driver.
Police say that the Papa John's driver was dropping off a pie Sunday night around 7:30 at the Red Roof Inn on Frederick Drive when he accidentally dropped his money.
When a robber, whose name has not been released, attempted to take the cash the driver pulled out a gun and shot at them.
The robber has now been taken to Grady. Their injuries are nonlife-threatening, officials said.
There's no word on whether either person will be charged.
Around 7:30pm, a Papa John's delivery driver was dropping off a pizza at the Red Roof Inn ( 4430 Frederick Dr SW, Atlanta, GA 30336 ). At some point, the driver dropped his money, and that's when a would-be robber attempted to take the cash. The driver pulled out a gun and shot the robber. The robber has been transported to Grady with non-life threatening injuries.
