Navy arrest 2 persons with 12kg of gold...
A team of naval personnel attached North Central Naval Command apprehended 2 suspects while attempting to smuggle 12kg of gold to India.
The suspects were apprehended last night In Urumalai off Talai-Mannar last night (Jan. 28) following a tip-off.
The smugglers were onboard a dinghy boat.
A Navy spokesperson said the consignment of gold was in the form of 120 biscuits, each weighing 100g.
The estimated value of the find was Rs. 70 million.
