The investigation into the Peoria police shooting of Eddie Russell Jr. appears to have concluded.

Peoria County State's Attorney Jerry Brady has scheduled a news conference for 3 p.m. Monday to reveal the results of the probe. The news conference is to be held in Room 112 of the Peoria County Courthouse, according to a news release.

Peoria police shot and killed Russell following an hours-long standoff at his family residence on West Sheffield Drive. The shooting also followed reports Russell had robbed a nearby bank earlier in the day.

The officers involved in the shooting were placed on paid administrative leave.

Police said an armed Russell advanced toward officers before he was shot. Others have disputed the police's account and called Russell's death an execution.
