THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a freak accident, a 38-year-old woman, who was travelling in an auto died, after she was hit by a wooden pole protruding out of a pickup auto, on Sunday. The dead has been identified as Sreedevi, a bank employee, from Thycaud. The accident occurred at 6.45 am, when she and her two children were travelling to the railway station. According to the police, the driver did not notice the wooden poles sticking out of the pickup autorickshaw in front, until he got too close. One of the poles hit Sreedevi’s chest, when the rickshaw driver swerved the vehicle away to avoid a collision. She died as soon as she was brought to the Medical College Hospital.
